You may have seen some of our previous posts in which we map the communities who are engaged in a debate on social media. In addition to community mapping, we can also map contexts. Given the popularity of Netflix and the diverse range of programming it provides, we thought it would be interesting to see which context-communities emerge when people use the #netflix hashtag on Twitter. We mapped over 100,000 connections and as you can see from the image below, a number of distinct context-communities emerge.  How is this useful? There are numerous applications of context-mapping. It can serve as

a source of creative inspiration, helping you to draw connections between ideas. It can help align your brand with cultural narratives and trends. It can identify which topics are central to an idea. More importantly, it can uncover themes that you didn't know even existed.  Looking at the map below, we can see that the distinct context-communities are corralled into unique communities of interest.
